Royal Kids Home has several active parent committees. parent committees meet with the team leader of a location at least three times a year. During these meetings, current developments within the childcare centres are addressed and any questions answered. Royal Kids Home also regularly requests the advice of parent committees in situations where this may be mandatory or simply desired.
Parent committee activities
The parent committees regularly organise a satisfaction survey among all parents. Its results are discussed with the team leader and management team. The parent committees also arrange gifts for all pedagogical staff members on the Dutch national day to celebrate staff members of childcare centres (‘dag van de leidster’).

The Childcare Act gives parents the right to influence childcare on important policy issues. If you would like to join us in the decision-making process, please register for the voluntary position of parent committee member. Parent committee members talk to each other about pedagogical policy plans, the cost of childcare, adjusting the opening hours, the organisation of the ‘Dag van de Leidster’, redesigning of the play areas, the approach of the pedagogical staff to parents and how the organisation deals with complaints, among other things.
